CK, a consumer credit monitoring site, is not accepting new clients. At this time, they continue to provide service to those who signed up prior to about April 1st.
RUMOR HAS IT a new online site is being generated to take the place of CK.
The middle of June, 2012, we began to use Privacy Guard. Their scores and report layout are identical to Credit Keeper. Cost $14.95 per month.
Unless you specifically request monthly updates, with Privacy Guard, they update scores and reports once every three months. Because of confusion caused by this company, we continued to investigate and now recommend Wells Fargo ‘Enhanced’. Monthly updated reports and scores are $15.99. Currently they offer ‘Try It Now’ – first month is $1.
If you are using Wells Fargo Enhanced (WFE)credit monitoring, you might receive updates regarding information in the reports, however most of the time these are irrelevant and don’t make sense. WFE gleans information and alerts from the credit reporting agencies, which often get misinterpreted by WFE. By and large, we ignore their alert updates, instead focus on the changes to the reports and scores that occur about once every 31 days, when you order your updated report.
We are still using the Wells Fargo Enhanced credit monitoring. You can find the link to that on our “CREDIT TEAM FAQ” page.
We have found these scores are within 25 points of mortgage scores, however sometimes exact same as mortgage scores.
